A second look: should we make an offer?

In my previous post I explained that we were diligently looking for houses March, April and May. By May we were beginning to worry we'd never find anything. A perfectly sized raised ranch underwhelmed us in March but  underwent two price drops by May and I knew we needed to revisit it. This time, the renters had left and the owners put a coat of white paint throughout. Finally the potential shone through. This was the perfect condo alternative for my partner and me. We fell in love with the skylights and vaulted ceilings. We also appreciated the 1995 build date as the house was built to more modern code and we didn't have to worry about hidden dangers such as lead paint or asbestos.

A fresh coat of paint and the removal of renters furnishings really brought out the potential for us. We could see a palette for our minimalistic contemporary style.

We had a vision and we made an offer!

A fresh coat of white paint and the absence of renters furnishings
brought out the potential

Before the living room was cluttered with renters furnishings
clear sight line to the back of the house
cluttered dining area; alcohol; outdated paint colors
vaulted ceilings
clear sight lines to front.

the kitchen seemed open. loved the skylight.

kitchen was cluttered and cramped with furniture
